After a solid career in fine dining, Katie, the brains behind Mama Sue’s hung up her chef’s whites to bring the food she loves – American Deep Southern comfort and spice – back home. We’re super passionate about our big pan cooking and, what’s more, we’re the only street food outfit in the North doing Deep South! Our signatures include chicken and chorizo jambalaya, impossibly tender8-hour beef brisket and superlative burgers. And not forgetting our veggie/vegan friends, there’s okra and sweet potato gumbo, seasonal veggie cook-ups and po’boys. All served simmering, smoky and with a healthy dose of chilli. We’ve had the pleasure of working alongside local Northernbrewers at tap events, food festivals, music events, film screenings, weddings and other private events. We source our meat from our local butcher and use local veg market produce wherever possible. Our containers are made from sustainable sugarcane and our cutlery from cornstarch – both fully recyclable and compostable – and we’ll only ever use 100% recycled paper napkins.
