Moo’s Men’s Raises Money For Animal charity

A BUSY barbershop with a big heart has come up with a novel way of raising money for an animal charity.

Owner of Moo’s Men’s, Tufties Gents, on Kay Street, Rawtenstall, Michelle-Zoe Woodward, known as ‘Moo’chelle, is an ardent animal lover.

During the half-term holiday, on Friday October 30, a Disney Lightning McQueen look-a-like car will be parked behind the salon from 10am to 7pm to raise money for Rossendale Responsible Animal Rescue .

For a donation, children will be able to sit in the car or have their photograph taken in the car by keen amateur photographer Police Community Support Office Nick Stratton.

Michelle said: “We are very grateful to Chris Driver allowing us to use his car for the fundraiser.

“We are raising money for Rossendale Responsible Animal Rescue to support the amazing work carried out by Michaela Holt and her ‘girls’ and the money will help towards the vet bill at Shuttleworth.

“The rescue offers free micro-chipping, rehoming and advice and also provides foster homes.

“They are always fundraising because when someone fosters a pet Rossendale Responsible Animal Rescue provides the food, covers vet bills and all costs incurred in looking after the animal.

“The rescue is always looking for new people to come forward to provide foster care and we hope by holding this event we will also be raising awareness.”

Chair of Rossendale Responsible Animal Rescue Michaela said: “We are beyond grateful to Michelle and many others that help RRAR in our efforts to help as many animals as possible. We are totally self-funded and our paid vet bills to date are over £16,000. Michelle’s kindness is overwhelming.”

Chris is a customer of Moo’s Men’s and was happy to be able to help the barbers in their fundraising efforts.

The car was liveried to resemble Lightning McQueen when, together with rally partner Terry Haworth, Chris took part in the Screwball and the Monte Carlo or Bust rallies.

Over the years, the barber has raised money for a number of local charities.
