In the late 1800s, Cissy was born to a family baker. As a child, she made pies and developed a passion for baking. Today we use the same recipe.
A Cissy Greens pie is not just a meat pie but true taste of history. Cissy Greens pies are handmade daily the same way they were made 200years ago. We use only the freshest locally sourced ingredients and our pies are made with whole cuts of high-quality meats.
Our range of handmade pies and cakes can be purchased from our shop, from many food outlets in Lancashire and are available wholesale to distributors, chippies, delis, restaurants and other bakeries.

This is the second largest town in Rossendale with a population of around 16,000 and its name means valley of the hazels.
The town’s main streets of Upper and Lower Deardengate have benefited from an influx of new independent shops, bars, restaurants and cafes which complement the more traditional shops and businesses.Haslingden was granted its market charter in 1676 and the market still exists although it has been relocated over the years and is now off Blackburn Road.On the outskirts of the town is Grade II Listed Sykeside Country House Hotel, once home to composer Alan Rawsthorne and Coronation Street stalwart William Roache, aka Ken Barlow.
Sedimentary rock quarried above the town is reported to have been used in Trafalgar Square while the picturesque reservoirs off Grane Road are popular destination for walkers and families.
High on the hill above the town stands a panopticon, a modern art structure called The Halo that courtesy of a wind turbine, glows blue as the sunsets. The town boasts 10 commemorative blue plaques, which pay tribute to its famous sons and daughters.

Our history stretches back more than 150 years and we are committed to continuing the art of traditional butchery. Everything we sell at Riley’s, is locally sourced, from farm to fork.
We make of our products on-site and our meat is free to roam over acres of Lancashire pasture. When he’s not in the shop you’ll find Geoff in the meadows keeping an eye on the animals. So, you can be assured that from our prize-winning sausages to our matured beef, we know exactly where it comes from.
Whilst we are dedicated to excellent quality and tradition, we absolutely love to give things a modern twist, experiment with new flavours and ideas, there’s always something original coming out of the kitchen.
