Valentine’s is a traditional butcher in every sense of the word, all meats are wonderfully fresh and locally sourced. Owner and head butcher John Valentine sources only meat from local farmers that practice excellent animal husbandry and welfare. Couple this with his excellent butchery skills and knowledge and you will get some of the tastiest cuts from the finest animals. We make all our own award-winning sausages.

The Fisherman’s Retreat is a traditional family run restaurant, wedding venue & malt whisky specialist, set in the Lancashire countryside.
We pride ourselves on sourcing and supporting local producers where possible; our aim is to provide an exceptional standard of food, freshly prepared by our team of dedicated chefs. Our menu features home-reared and home-produced traditional and modern British dishes, with an occasional international influence – prepared with the freshest ingredients, locally sourced where possible.
You can choose from the main menu or our daily specials. Most of the meat on the menu is handpicked on the hoof from local farms known to us. This gives us the unique advantage of knowing where each animal has come from.

Our café welcomes the muddiest, soggiest, sweatiest cyclists, walkers and four-legged friends around, but of course, the sophisticated souls are just as welcome here too.
We welcome all, be you covered in muck or feeling rather sweaty; the original cobbled floors and reclaimed/handmade furniture will surely not bat an eyelid. We serve a scrumptious lunch menu from 12pm and have the tastiest French Roast coffee to wake and shake you with a yummy slice of homemade cake.
We have a wide range of delicious speciality teas and of course good old Yorkshire tea. We don’t like leaving anybody out, so we have cakes and a menu to serve the gluten intolerant, the vegans and veggies amongst us, along with treats for our polite paws.

Although only a small village with a population of just over 2,000, Edenfield has a range of businesses.
Eateries include a gastro pub, a real ale pub and take-aways and the self-sufficient village boasts a butcher and bakery along with a post office, hair salon, paper shop and more.
It has a cricket team and the large recreation ground is home to a popular village fete in June. In nearby Turn Village the popular Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary is based.
