Business Awards will also Help Hospice

A LOCAL charity will also benefit when Rossendale Business Awards ceremony is held in November.

Organisers Valley at Work were approached by Rossendale Hospice about organising a fund-raising raffle at the event.

Rob Carder, who is Chair of Valley at Work which connects local businesses, said: “We are hoping that local businesses will work more closely with the hospice as it is a superb charity.

“We are happy that we are able to help, even if only in a small way, to promote the work of the hospice, raise awareness and also raise some money for this worthy organisation.”

The awards night is on Wednesday November 12 at The Riverside in Whitworth.

This year’s competition has proved immensely popular with more than 60 businesses put forward for awards and the closing date for nominations is Tuesday September 30.

Hospice marketing and corporate development manager Lisa Vincent said: “I am delighted that Valley at Work has decided to support us in this way.

“It means so much to our patients and families that we helping that all the businesses are supporting us.

“We will have some wonderful prizes for the raffle and we already have a bottle of wine I won at the Rossendale Business League meeting.

“It is an important opportunity for the hospice as we are trying to garner even more support from the wonderful businesses across Rossendale.”

The next Valley at Work meeting is on Wednesday October 1 at 6pm at AG6 when the guest speaker photographer Liz Henson will present an illustrated talk on Photo Reportage – telling a story through pictures.
