It's not what you know, it's who you know!
Valley at Work came about simply because PEER clients were asking for it. They wanted free, informal networking opportunities where they could meet other local business people, not just to do business but also to learn from one another. To meet this need a group of local business owners and PEER Board Members came together to plan and launch the network with PEER providing financial support. After eighteen months, the network has already grown to over a hundred and seventy members.
As well as informal networking, our monthly meetings feature a short talk by a local business owner on some practical issues that all businesses face. Following requests from network members who cannot always attend the meetings, we now produce a monthly newsletter to keep members up to date with what‘s happening around the network.
“Not only have I got some really good business out of the contacts I have made, but I’ve also been able to learn from other people’s business experience.”
